New Delhi: Kannada actress Ranya Rao was arrested on charges of gold smuggling. She landed in Bangalore Airport from Dubai last week, when the authorities recovered a huge amount of gold from him, which is said to be worth Rs 14.56 crore. He was immediately taken into custody by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) and started investigating. When the actress was produced before the court on Monday 10 March, she made serious allegations against DRI.
Ranya Rao appeared before a special court in Bangalore, who wanted to know if she was not beaten up in custody? Actually, some pictures of the actress were going viral on social media, due to which people were suspected that she had been assaulted in custody. On this, the actress claimed that she has been persecuted and threatened orally in DRI custody. She said, ‘I have been shocked mentally and emotionally in custody.’ The actress wept in front of the judge and said, ‘I am cooperating in the investigation. I was asked to sign on yesterday’s date documents, so I refused. The actress alleged that DRI officials threatened her.
