Where is cardamom cultivation in India: In India especially in states like Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, large -scale cardamom is cultivated. Its demand remains in every season, because it is used in food, sweets, drinks and spices. Loomi soil is considered most suitable for cardamom cultivation. Apart from this, cultivation can also be done in letters and black soil, but there may be damage in sand soil. The temperature is good between 10 and 35 ° C. More than 35 temperature is not good for this.

What is a cardamom plant: Its plant is 1 to 2 feet long and its branches are 1 to 2 meters long. Its leaves are 30 to 60 cm long and 5 to 9 cm wide. They are applied at a distance of 1-2 feet on the ridge of the field.

How to plant plants: To plant, a pit should be filled at a distance of 2-3 feet and filling cow dung. The June-July season is best for planting saplings. It should be applied in a shady place, more sunlight can decrease.

How long it takes to get ready: The cardamom plant takes 3 to 4 years to get completely ready. After this it is harvested and then it is dried in the sun or can be dried with the help of a machine. Cardamom is dried in strong heat for 18 to 24 hours after cutting. After drying, it is separated according to the shape and color, so that good quality can be sold in the market.

Harvesting and quality: When the legumes dry completely, they are cleaned by rubbing them in hands or metal mesh. After this, classification is done according to quality and sold in the market. Cardamom can be produced from 135 to 150 kg in one acre of land. Its price in the market is 1100 to 5000 rupees per kg. According to this, farmers can earn up to 5-6 lakh rupees annually.
