The announcement was made after the meeting between Infosys CFO, Jayesh Sanghrajka and IT and Industries Minister, D Sridhar Babu at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. A release issued by the state government stated in this regard, “35,000 workers work at Infosys’ Pocram Campus. The extension of this campus will make 17,000 additional jobs.” Regarding this, Sanghrajka said, “Our partnership with the Telangana government reveals our shared attitude to increase innovation, empower communities and strengthen the IT status.”
Infosys’s consolidated net profit in the third quarter of the current financial year increased by more than 11 percent to about Rs 6,806 crore. The company’s net profit was around Rs 6,106 crore in the same quarter of the last financial year. The revenue of Infosys in the third quarter has increased by more than seven percent to about Rs 41,764 crore. Financial services and manufacturing verticals stake in this revenue were around 27.8 percent and about 15.5 percent. In India and Europe, the company has gained growth in double digit on a year-on-year basis. The growth for Infosys in North America is about five percent.
Infosys has increased the guidance of revenue for the current financial year in the third consecutive quarter. In this financial year, the company is estimated to get a growth of 4.5 percent to 5 percent in revenue. In the last quarter, the company has added 5,591 new workers. The total number of Infosys workers is 3,23,379. Last year, the company faced criticism for avoiding the joining of new graduates. Infosys then issued offer letters to these freshers. However, the company had said that it did not change the hiring plan.
