New Delhi. Bollywood’s famous filmmaker Imtiaz Ali was highly appreciated for his ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’. However, his previous film ‘Love Aaj Kal 2’ was badly beaten at the box office. In this, Karthik Aryan and Sara Ali Khan were seen in the lead characters. Recently, the director told Imtiaz Ali why his film ‘Love Aaj Kal 2’ was not seen at the box office.

Talking to Komal Nahata on YouTube channel game changer, Imtiaz Ali said, ‘I could have separated 2-3 things. I tried to put too much in it, which made the film very heavy. The second thing was compromised the story of the film. It is too thick, the film did not understand what is happening. It seemed that it was not happening from the heart. I believe that there was less freshness in the film.

What caused the film flopped?
He further told that he had the reason for making ‘Love Aaj Kal 2’, but it could not be revealed. He said, ‘Not because of casting, but whenever you are making a sequel, you should have a concrete reason for that. I had that reason, but I could not tell him. At least it was not revealed in the publicity of the film. In a way, I had a new story in Love Aaj Kal 2, yet the film did not work. Therefore, unless it is really necessary, I am not interested in creating a sequel.

This was a sequel to the 2009 hit film ‘Love Aaj Kal’, in which Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone worked together. Released in the year 2020, ‘Love Aaj Kal 2’ flopped worldwide with a gross of 56.9 crores.
