He wrote, ‘We used to take pictures together on every Durga Puja. When we all were ready to decorate and we used to look so cute together. Deb Mukherjee, the father of director Ayan Mukherjee, died on March 14 at the age of 83 years. His funeral was held at Pawan Hans crematorium in Juhu area of ​​Mumbai. Many stars of the film came to pay the last tribute to the actor. Ayan’s special friend actor Ranbir Kapoor also shook the bier during the funeral. Ranbir and his wife Alia Bhatt left the Alibag Yatra planned for their birthday to stay with Ayan in difficult times.

Deb, who belongs to the famous Samarth-Mukherjee family, was the father-in-law of filmmaker Ayan Mukherjee and father-in-law of director Ashutosh Gowariker. Born in Kanpur in 1941, Deb Mukherjee’s mother was the only sister of great personalities like Satiidevi, Ashok Kumar, Anup Kumar and Kishore Kumar. His brother was actor Joy Mukherjee and filmmaker Shomu Mukherjee. Actress Tanuja was married to Shomu. His niece is famous actress Kajol and Rani Mukherjee. Deb Mukherjee married two. Her first marriage was daughter Sunita, who is married to filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker, while her son Ayan is a child from second marriage.
